The Seminar PYRENEES: ART AND ECOLOGY IN THE 21st CENTURY examines the problem of global warming and its effect on mountain landscape through the prism of various scientific fields: ecology, biology, geography, history…
During the seminar several specialists will reveal the most significant changes to the landscape, from the last glaciation to anthropization (past and present), with the added variable of global warming. The languages used for communication will be Catalan, Spanish and French.
Five scientists who are eminent in the natural and human sciences will take part, along with 5 artists, 2 of whom will be Catalans chosen via the notification herein. Another 3 will be chosen in Migdia-Pirineus.
The Seminar will last for 4 days and will take the form of a scientific debate with theoretical lectures and practical outings in the field. The lectures and subsequent debate will be open to the participation of interested members of the local public.
